This post is long overdue, but better late than never, right?!
Let me catch you up...
At the beginning of June, we hosted a volunteer team from our home church. The team was amazing! They prayer walked different areas of the city each morning, painted and remodeled the kitchen and children's rooms at the Forum, helped promote and host an open house for the Forum, and conducted cultural surveys for the church plant here. They worked so hard and we are beyond thankful for the time, finances, and prayers they have invested in the ministry here.
Here's a group shot in front of the Freedom Bridge...
Most of our colleagues were out of town while the group was here, so it was just Matt and I leading the team - which means is was really just Matt leading the team. Gideon is still on a pretty tight schedule, but we tried to hang with the group between naps and feedings :)
Here we are getting ready to go to the open house at the Forum...G is sporting his party shirt :)
The group also traveled to Szentendre, the gorgeous little town in my previous post. It's always fun ducking into quaint shops, snacking on langos or gelatto, and strolling down the river.
G and I with some of the girls! Love y'all!!
We took the group down to Hero's Square the last night. Some of our sweet friends didn't mind babysitting G so that Matt and I could both go!
Thanks again Longview team! You all worked your tails off and we are incredibly blessed to have you as friends!
A few days after they left, Gideon and I were invited to a traditional Norwegian lunch by one of my friends from the baby club. She is Norwegian and wanted to share a little bit of her culture with the baby club moms before she and her family moved back to Norway.
G waiting for momma to get ready...
Check out this amazing spread! She served some of her favorite traditional Norwegian foods: Sveler with jam, sour cream and Brunost, shrimp and salmon sandwiches, and Freia melkesjokolade (yummy chocolate!).
All the mums and babies had a blast and enjoyed getting a glimpse of another culture!
Thanks again Helene!
