Thanksgiving 2014

November was a whirlwind of packing, unpacking & driving. After only a week in Indy we were headed back to MS for Thanksgiving and Gideon's 4th Birthday! We had fun visiting with my parents who had driven up from FL. The plan was to celebrate G's birthday at the Zoo, but the weather wasn't exactly cooperative, so we headed to Newk's for lunch and cupcakes, then to Chuck-E-Cheese afterwards. Yes, changing The Plan (because there always is one), gave me a slight twitch for a minute, but when I saw that Gideon was just as stoked to go to Chuck-E-Cheese as he was the Zoo and proceeded to roll through those little gold coins on goodness knows how many rides, skeeball throws and water pistol games- I decided it wasn't too bad, for Plan B. Seriously though, that place was like Vegas for pre-schoolers. Windows darkened, a little cup with gold tokens, tickets shooting out of machines everywhere you look, flashing lights, and slap bracelets. They were utterly mesmerized. We even managed to walk away with two packs of Nerds, a pink bracelet, and a bouncy ball. As Gideon said, " BEST DAY EVER!"
We spent Thanksgiving Day at Matt's parents' house. The morning started with the annual Brewer Boys Hunt, where Matt brought home an eleven point! Later, we had dinner at the Brewer's with the Ford's, Anna's sister's family. The kids had a blast playing together! We were all so thankful to be together, especially knowing it would be the last time for a while.
The next day, we hung out at Memaw's and visited with the Surratt/Farley crew. The boys had fun playing football outside while the girls chatted inside. That night, we had a little party for Gideon with family and a few close friends. Gideon had wanted a dinosaur/campout theme, so we had a bonfire with smore's, hot chocolate and a father/son campout. Gideon got a dinosaur stamp set as a gift from BeBe earlier and made sure to stamp all his party guests' hands! It was such a blessing to be surrounded by friends and family that love our Gideon so much! He received some great gifts, as well!
Our week was jam-packed with parties, even more packing, and lots of good times with family :)
Now, back to Indy where the real fun awaits!
