With the weather finally warming up around here, we were all ready to get out and enjoy it! Charlotte had recently finished her ballet class and Gideon was itching to jump into a sport of his own. T-Ball seemed to be the perfect fit! We played in a (very) non-competitave 3-5 year old league through the local YMCA. The league lasted about 6 weeks, and the boys each got a trophy at the end. Matt, along with some of the other parents, were able to jump in and help with coaching. Because this was a first for many of the boys, there were loads of laughs throughout the season! Things like running the wrong way around the bases, throwing their gloves with the ball, runners from one team catching and throwing the ball to the other team, and all the fielders running in to catch a grounder and dog piling on top of the ball until the coaches came and lifted the boys up off of each other were normal at first. By the end of the season, most of the players had gotten the hang of it ;)
One week, Gideon's Mississippi fan club made a trip up to see him play! Boy, was he proud to have Mimi, Kasey and Landon, and the Massongill's come to cheer him on!
Here are a few of our favorite shots of Gideon! He even had a few game ending grand slams! We are so proud of our little ball player! I'm sure we'll have quite a few more years of ball games, but we'll definitely never forget the first!
