Spring is officially here and we are loving every second of this warm weather! This year, Matt and I decided to start a new tradition for our little family. We had a Spring Fling party the Saturday before Palm Sunday. There were Easter baskets, an egg hunt, pin the tail on the bunny, egg dying, adorable spring attire, yummy food, and even baby ducklings! We're hoping that celebrating Spring, in all of it's chocolate covered bunny goodness, before we celebrate Holy Week, will enable our family to more easily focus on Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection the following week, rather than stressing about filling Easter baskets, planning parties, or having to fight to keep the kids from thinking Resurrection Day is all about candy, baskets, bunnies, or themselves! This year was a trial run, so we just invited family, but we hope to invite neighbors and friends from the community next year!
To say that the kids had a blast would be a huge understatement! Just look at these pics!
(And yes, we are now the proud owners of 4 baby ducklings! As named by Gideon & Charlotte, they are Daisy, Donald, Daffodil and Webster. After a few months, we'll release them to live on the pond on our land. The first two pictures show the kids, just up from naps, meeting them for the first time!)
