March Madness

And no, sports fans, the madness I'm referring to has absolutely nothing to do with college basketball. This madness involves selling our house, packing up and moving to a rental, driving 1500 miles to Indy for meetings just three days later, celebrating not one, not two, but three birthdays, early morning adventures with Big G & Little G, skinny dipping toddlers, and a whopper stopper surprise birthday party for my main man. All that in one month!

Our last day at 110 Ethelyn Smith Drive! (Charlotte stayed with Mimi & Papa the night before so it wouldn't be complete madness that morning at the closing.) Leaving was definitely bitter sweet for us. We designed every inch of that house and got to see it being built from the ground up. That was the house we brought Charlotte home from the hospital to and the place I hosted family Thanksgiving for the first time in. We spent countless nights in front of that fireplace reading books to the kids and chatting about the day.  As hard as it was to leave, we are so thankful for God's timing in selling it and providing the perfect place for us to move during the transition! Just two days before we got the contract on our house, Matt's brother and his wife moved out of the family owned rental house and into a new place leaving it open for new renters! The timing couldn't have been any better!  The new place is on 60+ acres with a pond, so the kids (and Matt!) are in hog heaven! Adventures, racing in the pasture, four wheeling, bon fires, and fishing are all part of our daily routine now. The kids are sharing a room now too and have transitioned flawlessly! Talk about an answer to prayer! We love hearing the conversations that are had between them each night after we lay them down for bed. Especially when songs are involved, ha! Their mash-up of "Jesus Loves Me" with a side of "Let it Go" from Frozen and maybe a dash of "The Bare Necessities" from The Jungle Book is seriously adorable. Ha!

Just a few days after the big move, Matt and I hit the road on our second trip to Indianapolis, where we're exploring the possibility of church planting. While there we celebrated Matt's 30th birthday by hitting downtown's Bru Burger and topping off the night with some seriously yummy ice cream from the South Bend Chocolate Company. While we were gone, the kiddos had a blast with Matt's parents. They spent hours playing in this huge sand pile each day! Who needs TV when you have sand?! Believe it or not, Gideon was the one worried about getting his clothes messy from the sand...meanwhile sweet Charlotte is elbow deep in it and loving every second of it!

First family movie night (Lady and the Tramp) in the new place and a lesson in pallet making.
Celebrating my cousin's precious little girl, Addy Grace, at her first birthday party! She is absolutely precious! Gideon and Charlotte spent most of the party with her big brother Asher playing outside. No matter how cute Charlotte is dressed, you can always find her out digging in the dirt and playing on the swing set with the boys!

We celebrated my 28th birthday with dinner at the Crepe Maker! YUM! To say we stuffed our faces would be an understatement. We just couldn't pass up one of their dessert crepes!

Since our move, Wednesday mornings have become the much anticipated Big G and Little G days! Each week Matt's brother, Garrett, picks Gideon up for a fun new adventure! They have been exploring in the back pasture where they made a bon fire by rubbing two sticks together (okay, Garrett may have had a lighter...but, either way,  when fire is involved it's serious male bonding time), gone out for breakfast, ventured to Home Depot (which is Gideon's dream store because he absolutely must sit on each and every shiny green lawn mower on the premises), and fed the ducks at the park! Serious fun!

What a wild and crazy month! In the midst of the madness, we had a blast!
