My parents live in south FL, so we don't get to spend tons of time with them. But, when we do, we go all out! This summer, we got to spend two whole weeks at their house! Each day was packed with fun activities, with our first two days being spent at Disney World! We flew down on Tuesday, got up super early on Wednesday and drove to Orlando, and were walking into the Magic Kingdom at 10:30. Gideon and Charlotte had a blast! Thanks to the new fastpass system, the lines weren't bad at all either!
Our first stop was a meet & greet with Ariel. The kids were utterly starstruck. G just looked at her in amazement as she told them a cute story and flipped her finns around. It was seriously the cutest thing ever! Even now, they'll tell you that was their favorite part of Disney :)
We rode Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland's Tea Cups, Whinnie the Pooh's Honey Pots, Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride, Ariel's Under the Sea Adventure, the Jungle Cruise, It's A Small World, the Train that goes all the way around the park, and several more! We came back to the hotel for lunch and a family nap, because we were all whooped! After dinner we hit it again for a few more hours and caught the lighted parade just before we left! The next day, we went to Downtown Disney for a bit, then headed home.
We had a blast on our first family Disney trip, but I think we'll let the hardcore Mousekateers have the summer months and we'll go in Jan/Feb next time! That Florida sun is killer!
