January Recap!

It seems like each week has flown by, but here's a quick recap of some of our January ventures:
A surprise visit from Landon and Kasey started the new year off right! We had a blast showing them around Indy and Noblesville, playing at the Children's Museum, and having them join us for our Sunday gathering with the Restoration Church team! L & K have recently moved to Louisville, so we're pumped to have them only a couple hours away (making them our closest fam for a good 380+ miles)!
Believe it or not, Matt and I were able to go on a date night! We've tried to swap date nights with the Andersons at least once a month, so that we can each get a little time sans kiddos. We tried a little pizzeria in Carmel, finishing up with a scoop from Cold Stone Creamery. True, the temps outside were below freezing, but it's never too cold for ice cream, right?
We love spending Saturday mornings at the Zionsville Park, just a street over from the town's adorable square. After playing on the playgrounds and building snowmen, we headed to the square for some hot chocolate and gourmet popcorn. Exploring the little square and ducking into cute shops along the way made for a great way to end the morning. It's wild what a little fresh air and sunshine can do when you've been stuck inside for a few days.
Matt had a church planter's conference over MLK Jr. Day, so the kiddos and I decided to take advantage of free admission day at the Zoo! We were definitely not alone, as it seemed like the whole city of Indy had come out for free day, but we still had a great first visit to the IndyZoo. The kids especially enjoyed getting up close and personal with the tiger and penguins!
Lastly, I took the kids to a free concert at a local community center. Gideon preferred hanging with me, while Charlotte was quick to jump right in, grabbing dance partners left and right! Her bubbly personality just radiates, even in a huge group of kiddos. While I loved watching C, my first born nature could totally relate to G and his preference to hang back and watch, rather than possibly look silly in front of others. Don't here me wrong, that kid doesn't think twice before he busts out his own tribal dance/karate moves/shaking his groove thang in nothing but his Toy Story underoos at home! They're wild, but I'm loving these early years with G & C!
Four one-way tickets to Never Land anyone?!
